Reflection is very important to a superintendent or school leader. Reflection allows a person to look back and focus on a precise issue or experience. It is from this process that an individual can grow and move forward as a leader. In my case, reflective writing has proven to be a very important tool to use in order to think more clearly on new experiences from the program.
Over the course of this program, I was able to learn from my experiences. Reflective writing has been a great tool to use. Whether the assignment requires interviewing a superintendent or understanding the budget process, reflection has helped tremendously. All leaders reflect on their actions. It is from this process were an individual can understand the decisions that were carried out, the actions taken, and the mistakes that were made. It is necessary to look back and take stock of the situation. Growth and improvement are the outcomes of true reflection.

Experience is a great teacher! I also learnd from the experiences of our classmates. It is not always neccesary for a person to go through a situation in order for them to learn. Putting ideas on paper allows for you to reflect in the future on things done in the past.
